A front extending from the Northern Appalachians to the Carolinas westward to the Southern Plains will move off the East Coast and the Gulf Coast by Friday morning. An associated deep upper-level trough over the Northeast will aid in producing rain from the Northeast to parts of the Tennessee Valley and Southern Ohio Valley with some embedded thunderstorms over parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Thursday evening. The rain will move off the Mid-Atlantic Coast and Southern New England Coast by Friday morning and off Northern New England by late Friday night. Snow will develop over parts of the Great Lakes and Northern Ohio Valley by Thursday evening. The snow will move into parts of the Northeast to the Central Appalachians by Friday morning and will wane to parts of Northern New England and Northern Appalachians by Friday evening. By Saturday morning the snow will be limited to parts of Northern Maine. A second front extending from the Upper Mississippi Valley to the Northern High Plains will move southeastward to Southern New England to the Southeast westward to the Lower Mississippi Valley then northwestward along the Rockies by Saturday morning. Snow and rain will develop over parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley by Thursday evening. All snow will develop overnight Thursday from the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Upper Great Lakes by Friday morning that will expand into the Ohio Valley by Friday evening. Rain will also develop over parts of the Southern Ohio Valley/Tennessee Valley on Friday afternoon that will move into parts of the Mid-Atlantic by Saturday. Similarly, the snow will move into the Lower Great Lakes/Central Appalachians and parts of the Mid-Atlantic by Saturday morning. Additionally, a deep upper-level low just off the Southern California Coast will move inland over parts of Southern California by Friday morning while a second upper-level low over the Pacific will move southeastward to just off the Southern California Coast, absorbing the previous upper-low by Saturday morning. Moisture from the Pacific will move northward over Southern California/Southwest while moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will move northwestward over the Southern Rockies/Southern Plains. Rain will develop over parts of Southern California/Southwest by Thursday evening that will expand into parts of Northern/Central California and the Great Basin/Central Rockies by Friday. Rain will develop over parts of the Southern High Plains by Friday evening that will move into the Southern Plains by Saturday.
