A deep upper-level low over the Central Rockies will be quasi-stationary through Tuesday. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream northward over the Plains moving into parts of the Mississippi Valley by Tuesday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the associated front over the Central and Southern Plains through Tuesday. On Monday, showers and thunderstorms will spread into parts of the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley and continue into Tuesday. Similarly, rain will develop along and near the boundary from parts of the Central Plains into the Northern Plains and Northern High Plains also through Tuesday. Furthermore, higher elevation snow and lower elevation rain will develop over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies through Tuesday, too. Meanwhile, a front extending from Northern New England westward to the Upper Mississippi Valley will slowly sink southward to the Mid-Atlantic to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Tuesday morning. Rain will develop along the boundary over the Upper Mississippi Valley and expand into the Upper Great Lakes by Monday morning. By Monday evening, the rain will move into parts of Northern New England moving into parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday. Additionally, some embedded thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley late Sunday afternoon into evening. More embedded thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley and parts of the Middle Missouri Valley Monday afternoon into evening.
