Upper-level low over the Mid-Atlantic will be quasi-stationary though Saturday. The system will produce rain over parts of the region that will move into parts of the Northern Appalachians/Southern New England by Friday evening continuing into Saturday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Carolinas on Friday afternoon moving off the Carolina Coast overnight Friday. In addition, rain will move into parts of Northern New England on Thursday evening ending by Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, a second upper-level low just off the California Coast will move inland to the Great Basin/Southwest by Saturday. The system will produce rain with embedded thunderstorms over California/Great Basin into the Pacific Northwest and the Rockies through Saturday. Additionally, a front extending from the Great Basin to the Northern High Plains will move east and southward to the Great Lakes southwestward to the Central High Plains by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Upper Mississippi Valley to the Central Rockies on Friday afternoon and evening that will move to the Upper Great Lakes to the Central High Plains/Central Rockies by Saturday morning.
