The weather pattern over the next couple of days will be featured with surface high pressure over the Pacific Northwest and also the Northeast states, with a low pressure system and cold front across the Great Plains. Another frontal boundary is expected across the Southeast U.S. with a weak wave of low pressure developing along it. In terms of sensible weather impacts, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely from the Upper Midwest and extending southwestward to the southern Rockies, where the boundary is expected to weaken. Some severe storms will be possible across parts of the Upper Midwest as the surface low deepens and moves into southern Canada. Storms are also likely to develop over parts of the Deep South and the Carolinas with the front stalling in that area.
