A front extending from the Carolina Coast roughly westward to the Southern Plains will remain quasi-stationary through Tuesday. Tropical moisture will pool along the boundary along with a weak upper-level low over Florida that will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Southern Plains eastward to the Southeast through Tuesday. The precipitation will have an areal maximum in coverage during the late afternoon and evening on Sunday into Tuesday. In the meantime, an upper-level impulse over the Northern Rockies will move northeastward into South-Central Canada and merge with a boundary moving southward over Central Canada by Monday evening. The associated front will extend from parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Northern Plains to the Northern Intermountain Region by Tuesday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region to the Northern High Plains that will move into parts of the Northern Plains by Monday afternoon. Overnight Monday, showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the newly developed front over parts of the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley southwestward to parts of the Central High Plains that will move to parts of the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley roughly westward to the Northern High Plains by Tuesday. In addition, onshore flow off the Pacific will aid in producing rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Tuesday. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central Rockies and the Southwest/Eastern Great Basin through Tuesday as well.
