A stationary front extending from the Carolinas roughly westward to the Southern Plains will slowly weaken through Wednesday. Tropical moisture pooling near the boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Southern Plains eastward to the Southeast through Wednesday. The showers and thunderstorms will have a maximum in areal coverage during the afternoon into late evening hours. In addition, upper-level impulse moving across parts of the Ohio Valley into the Northern Appalachians will intersect moisture transported northward to produce showers and thunderstorms over the region on Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. Meanwhile, a developing front over parts of the Northern High Plains into the Upper Great Lakes will trigger showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Plains by late Monday night. The showers and thunderstorms will expand eastward into the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes and into the Northern High Plains on Tuesday into Wednesday. Additionally, onshore flow off the Pacific will produce rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest until the onshore flow ends overnight Tuesday. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest/Eastern Great Basin into parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and High Plains through Wednesday.
