Upper-level energy over the Lower Mississippi Valley will merge with energy moving out of the Southern Rockies and roughly with energy moving across the Great Lakes by early Monday morning. The energy along with tropical moisture pooling near the system will produce showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain at times over the Lower Mississippi Valley through Monday morning. Meanwhile, a quasi-stationary front extending from parts of the Northeast to the Ohio Valley to the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley will also have tropical moisture pooling along the boundary. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the front from the Northeast to the Ohio Valley to the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley through Tuesday. In addition, another upper-level low over Florida will move into the interior Southeast by Monday evening into Tuesday. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the Southeast with a maximum in areal coverage during the late afternoon into the late evening hours through Tuesday. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture will weaken over the Southern/Central Rockies with showers and thunderstorms tapering off by Sunday evening. Also, a region of broad upper-level energy over the Pacific Northwest will move eastward to the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. The energy will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern High Plains/Northern Plains overnight Sunday moving into the Upper Mississippi Valley/Northern Plains by Monday evening.
