A front extending from the Upper Great Lakes to the Central High Plains then roughly westward to the Great Basin will move eastward to the Northern Appalachians/Ohio Valley to the Southern Plains then westward into the Great Basin by Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley to the Central Plains that will move eastward to the Northeast by Friday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Northern Intermountain Region will move to the Central Rockies/Central High Plains by Friday morning. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains will move into the Central High Plains into the Middle Mississippi Valley by Friday. In addition, upper-level energy and tropical moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the Central Gulf Coast to parts of the Southeast and Central/Southern Appalachians through Friday. The showers and thunderstorms will have the greatest areal coverage during the afternoon into late evening. Additionally, daytime heating and monsoonal moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and the Southwest/Eastern Great Basin during the afternoon into the late evening on Wednesday and Thursday.
