Post-Tropical Cyclone Hermine will continue to track northeastward just offshore the northern Mid-Atlantic Coast. The bulk of the heavy rain will remain over the Atlantic Ocean, however tropical storm force winds will continue to cause high surf - with moderate to major coastal flooding possible from the Mid-Atlantic to the Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Tropical moisture over parts of Florida will aid in producing showers and thunderstorm over the state into Monday. Tropical moisture along the Gulf Coast and upper-level impulses will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Western Gulf Coast to the Eastern Gulf Coast and parts of the Southeast Coast through Monday. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for portions of the southern and central Rockies and the surrounding Plains as monsoonal moisture streams into the region. A slow-moving front, spanning from central Canada to the Great Basin, will be a focus for showers and thunderstorms across the northern Plains and Canadian Prairie. Disturbances moving through the Pacific Northwest will also generate rain, with snow at the higher elevations of the northern Rockies in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Conditions are forecast to be favorable for severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across the central and northern Plains. Many locations within the Intermountain West and surrounding Plains will observe a 20 to 30 degree drop in afternoon highs by Monday.
