Tropical Storm Julia will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast with heavy rain at times through Thursday evening. The storm will slowly weaken to a tropical depression then dissipate. See the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center for the most up to date storm track and intensity. Meanwhile, a front extending from the Northeast to the Southern High Plains will move off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast and stall over the Carolinas into parts of the Tennessee Valley overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the boundary from the Northeast to the Southern Plains that will move eastward off the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Coast by Thursday morning. The showers and thunderstorms from the Ohio Valley to the Southern Plains will dissipate by late Wednesday night. In addition, an upper-level low over the Great Basin/Northern Rockies will slowly move eastward to the Northern Plains by Thursday evening into Friday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Rockies/Great Basin into the Southern Rockies/Southern High Plains that will slowly move eastward to the Northern High Plains to parts of the Plains by Thursday morning. On Thursday, the showers and thunderstorms will expand into the Mississippi Valley and into the Southern Plains. Additionally, tropical moisture along the Gulf Coast and daytime heating will produce showers and thunderstorms along parts of the Western/Central Gulf Coast mainly during the afternoon into the late evening on Wednesday into Thursday.
