WPC reissued the 12 hour through the 24 hour products as the Pacific front moving into the Northwest held together instead of dissipating as depicted on the last few runs of the short range products. Tropical Storm Julia will slowly weaken to a tropical depression while remaining off the Southeast Coast through Sunday. See the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center on the most current track and intensity of Julia. A few showers and thunderstorms may develop along the Southeast Coast as Julia weakens. Meanwhile, a front extending from the Upper Mississippi Valley to the Southern High Plains will slowly move eastward to the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains by Saturday evening into Sunday. Moisture streaming northward from the Gulf of Mexico will intersect the boundary producing showers and thunderstorms, likewise, from parts of the Upper Midwest to the Southern High Plains. The showers and thunderstorms will advance eastward to the Lower Great Lakes to parts of the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley by Saturday night. As the moisture flows out of the Gulf of Mexico, showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Western and Central Gulf Coast through Saturday evening. In addition, moisture remaining over parts of the Southern High Plains and upper-level energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the area from Friday evening into Saturday and Sunday. Furthermore, tropical moisture will be over the southern half of Florida through Saturday evening producing showers and thunderstorms over the region with a maximum in areal coverage during the late afternoon into the late evening. In the meantime, a front over the Eastern Pacific will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest overnight Friday moving eastward to the Northern High Plains by Saturday evening. The system will produce rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest starting overnight Friday. The rain will move inland to the Northern Rockies by Saturday evening into Sunday.
