Hurricane Matthew is forecast to move northward along the Eastern Coast of Florida into Georgia and South Carolina through Sunday. The storm will produce heavy rain along the Southeast into the Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast through Sunday. Meanwhile, a front extending from the Upper Great Lakes southward to the Southern High Plains will move eastward to the East Coast by Saturday evening. Moisture will pool along the boundary that will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from the Great Lakes to Texas that will retreat into the Ohio Valley/Great Lakes by Friday evening. On Saturday, rain will develop along the front from parts of the Northeast into the Central Appalachians into parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic through Saturday evening. In addition, moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream into parts of the Southern Rockies/Southwest Friday afternoon into Sunday. Upper-level energy over the Southwest will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of Southwestern Texas moving into parts of the Southern Rockies/Southwest overnight Friday into Saturday. Another front moving into the Pacific Northwest will move inland to parts of the Middle Missouri Valley by Sunday. A plume of moisture from the Pacific will stream into the Pacific Northwest through Sunday. The system will produce rain over parts of the Northwest that will expand into parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains Friday into Saturday.
