Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 358 AM EDT Thu Oct 13 2016 Valid 12Z Thu Oct 13 2016 - 12Z Sat Oct 15 2016 ...Heavy rain possible over the Pacific Northwest and Northern California Coast... a front extending from the Lower Great Lakes to the Tennessee Valley then westward across the Southern Plains will move eastward off the East Coast by late Thursday night and southward off the Gulf Coast by Friday. Rain will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Lower Great Lakes to the Southern Ohio Valley that will move eastward to the Northeast by Thursday evening and off the coast by Thursday night. In addition, upper-level energy over the Southwest/Southern Rockies will move eastward to the Lower Mississippi Valley by Friday evening. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream into the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley on Thursday and Friday. The moisture and energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern High Plains and Western Gulf Coast that will move eastward to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Tennessee Valley by Friday into Saturday morning.
