A front extending from the Lower Great Lakes to the Tennessee Valley then westward across the Southern Plains will move eastward off the East Coast by late Thursday night and southward off the Gulf Coast by Friday. Rain will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Lower Great Lakes to the Southern Ohio Valley that will move eastward to the Northeast by Thursday evening and off the coast by Thursday night. In addition, upper-level energy over the Southwest/Southern Rockies will move eastward to the Lower Mississippi Valley by Friday evening. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream into the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley on Thursday and Friday. The moisture and energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern High Plains and Western Gulf Coast that will move eastward to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Tennessee Valley by Friday into Saturday morning. Meanwhile, a system over the Eastern Pacific will move onshore over the Northwest and advance inland to the Northern Plains/Central Rockies into the Great Basin by Friday into Saturday. A plume of moisture from the Pacific will move into parts of the Pacific Northwest/Northern California Coast and move southward along the coast to Central California by Friday evening/Saturday morning. The storm will produce heavy rain and strong wind over parts of the Northwest Coast/Northern California Coast on Thursday morning into Friday. The rain will move inland to parts of the Northern Rockies by Thursday evening continuing through Saturday. On Friday, the rain will move into Central California and into parts of the Great Basin and the Central Rockies.
