Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 345 PM EDT Sun Oct 23 2016 Valid 00Z Mon Oct 24 2016 - 00Z Wed Oct 26 2016 ...Fall-like weather continues across much of the nation... ...Strong low pressure system approaching the Pacific Northwest... An expansive area of high pressure, spreading southeast out of southern Canada and the northern tier states, is reinforcing the cooler, fall-like temperatures across the eastern half of the nation. Scattered showers have been observed over the Great Lakes region this afternoon are likely along the northern portion of the front, but locations farther south are forecast to remain dry as the front passes this evening and into Monday. Warm and dry conditions are expected to continue for the Gulf Coast region and Deep South through Monday. The eastern Pacific and Pacific Northwest will continue to be in an active, wet pattern in to the work week. Periods of rain is forecast for the Pacific Northwest coast as a front weakens inland today and with another strong storm system is expected to move inland Monday through Tuesday. Windy conditions will likely develop from northern California to western Washington with the second system.
