Upper-level energy over the Central Plains will move into the Middle Mississippi Valley and merge with additional upper-level energy moving southward from Central Canada by early Tuesday morning. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream northward over the Southern/Central Plains Monday evening. The energy and moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central/Southern Plains into parts of the Central Gulf Coast through Monday night. Meanwhile, a front associated with the energy moving out of Canada will extend from parts of the Northern Plains to the Central High Plains will move eastward to the Lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley southwestward to the Western Gulf Coast by Tuesday evening. The boundary will intersect the moisture moving northward over the Central Plains producing rain over parts of the Central Plains on Monday. Moisture will pool along the front as the boundary moves southeastward. Rain will develop along the front from parts of the Upper Great Lakes into the Middle Mississippi Valley and Central Plains overnight Monday. In contrast, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of Texas into parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley Monday night into Tuesday evening.
