Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 138 PM EST Wed Nov 9 2016 Valid 00Z Thu Nov 10 2016 - 00Z Sat Nov 12 2016 ...Showers expected over parts of Texas and Pacific Northwest... ...Quiet weather pattern continues across much of the nation... A cold front moving off the East Coast on Wednesday evening will generate showers across parts of the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast U.S. before drier weather arrives in time for Thursday. Slightly cooler weather is expected behind the cold front with readings closer to average for this time of year. Showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder are also possible over southern Texas through the end of the week with a weak upper level low over northern Mexico and onshore flow from the Gulf of Mexico. Elsewhere across the continental U.S., a rather benign weather pattern will be commonplace across most areas from the Intermountain West to the Ohio Valley. Rain is likely across parts of western Washington and Oregon with Pacific storm systems grazing the coastline. Above normal temperatures and dry conditions should continue through Thursday for much of the country, except for cooler temperatures which are expected to arrive for the northern tier states by Thursday night behind another cold front.
