Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 254 PM EST Fri Nov 11 2016 Valid 00Z Sat Nov 12 2016 - 00Z Mon Nov 14 2016 ...Unseasonably warm temperatures expected from the northern Rockies to the Upper Midwest... High pressure will build over much of the central and eastern U.S. this weekend - with a cold front pushing offshore of the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic and southward through the southern states. Scattered rain showers, with snow showers possible for the highest elevations, will taper off by this evening. Temperatures across much of the Northern Rockies, High Plains and Upper Midwest will have unseasonably warm temperatures this weekend; highs this weekend forecast to be 15 to 25 degrees above average. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible along the tail end of the front across the southern High Plains through Saturday. Cooler air will settle in over the Northeast under the high pressure. Many locations will have afternoon highs 5 to 10 degrees below average this weekend. Rain showers over coastal Washington will become more widespread by tonight as a frontal system approaches the Pacific Northwest. The front will move inland on Saturday, spreading the precipitation to eastern Washington/Oregon and along the Northern Rockies as the front crosses the Front Range. Snow levels will begin to lower across the region on Saturday as cooler air streams in. By Sunday, another system will begin to spread rain and high elevation snows into the Pacific Northwest.
