Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 255 PM EST Sat Nov 12 2016 Valid 00Z Sun Nov 13 2016 - 00Z Tue Nov 15 2016 ...Unseasonably warm temperatures expected from the northern Rockies to the Upper Midwest... Much of the central and eastern portions of the U.S. will remain dry over the next few days under an expansive area of high pressure. A weakening frontal boundary will stall over central Florida to south Texas will keep scattered showers and thunderstorms over the western Gulf and south Texas through Monday morning. Only a few isolated showers will possible along the east coast of Florida with this same boundary. By Sunday afternoon, a wave of low pressure is forecast to develop along the front off the Florida/Georgia coast; which will then track to the northeast. Rain showers will likely develop near the central low pressure along portions of the Southeast and southern Mid-Atlantic coastline by Sunday night into Monday morning. A relatively dry cold front will push through the northern High Plains this evening and into the Upper Midwest and central/southern Plains Sunday through Monday. However, this system is not expected to end the unseasonably warm streak across the northern states. Afternoon high temperatures are forecast to range 15 to 25 degrees above average through Sunday for many locations from the northern Rockies to the Upper Midwest. Scattered showers are tapering off over Washington/Oregon this afternoon now that the cold front has pushed inland. However a few showers will linger over portions of the Intermountain West.
