A front extending from the Great Lakes southward to the Lower Mississippi Valley will move eastward to off most of the East Coast by Sunday morning. The system will produce snow over the Upper Mississippi Valley that will move into the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday morning and winding down over the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday evening. In addition, lake effect snow will develop downwind from the Great Lakes and into the Central Appalachians and parts of the Northern Appalachians on Saturday afternoon into evening. The lake effect snow will wind down on Sunday over the Upper Great Lakes on Sunday. The lake effect snow will continue over parts of the Lower Great Lakes and into parts of the Northern/Central Appalachians through Sunday evening. Additionally, showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front from parts of the Great Lakes to Lower Mississippi Valley/Western Gulf Coast through Friday evening.
