A front will settle across the interior Gulf Coast State to the Southeast Coast on New Year's Day through Monday. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will overrun the boundary producing showers and thunderstorms along the Central and into parts of the Eastern Gulf Coast/Southeast that will expand into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic overnight Sunday and continuing into Monday evening. Rain will also develop over parts of the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic that will expand into parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Northern Mid-Atlantic by Monday morning into Monday evening. In addition, low pressure over Northern New England will move to Eastern Coast of Canada by Monday morning. The system will aid in producing snow over parts of the Central/Northern Appalachians into the Northeast with rain along the Northeast Coast that will end Sunday afternoon into evening.
