A front extending from the Southeast to the Southern Plains will remain quasi-stationary through Sunday. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will pool along the boundary aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms over the Southern Plains through Sunday morning. As the moisture overruns the front, rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Southern Plains into the Western Ohio Valley that will expand into parts of the Central Appalachians by Saturday morning. The rain/freezing rain will wane during the day on Saturday from parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Central Appalachians to return overnight Saturday into Sunday. In addition just south of the area of rain/freezing rain, rain will develop from parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley to parts of the Mid-Atlantic through Sunday.
