Low pressure over the Middle Mississippi Valley will slowly move eastward to off the Northeast Coast by Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the associated front from the Middle Mississippi Valley to Eastern Texas/Lower Mississippi Valley that will move eastward to the Ohio Valley/Tennessee Valley by Tuesday morning then to the Mid-Atlantic Coast by Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Rain will develop parts of the Central Plains, Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley/Great Lakes on Monday evening that will move into parts of the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday evening continuing into Wednesday. Pockets of snow and rain/freezing rain will develop along the northern edge of the precipitation shield from the Central Plains to the Great Lakes. Snow will develop over parts of the Northeast Tuesday evening into Wednesday. In addition, an area of rain and snow over the Southwest into the Southern/Central Rockies will dissipate by Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, a plume of moisture ahead of a front over the Northern Pacific will aid in producing rain and higher elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest Coast starting Tuesday afternoon that will expand inland to parts of the Northern Rockies by Wednesday. The rain and higher elevation snow will move into parts of Northern California overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. The rain and snow will be heavy at times.
