Rapidly deepening low off the Northeast Coast will continue to move away from New England. In the wake of the low, lake effect snow will develop downwind from the Great Lakes through Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, a plume of moisture moving into Central California will slowly move southward into Northwestern Mexico and the wind over Northern/Central California will become offshore by Saturday. With the moisture moving inland over the West Coast, rain will develop over Central/Northern California and the Northwest extending inland to the Northern Rockies and parts of the Great Basin on Thursday evening.
