A fast moving storm over the Upper Great Lakes will move eastward off New England Coast by Saturday evening. The system will produce snow over parts of the Upper Great Lakes into parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Northern Appalachians on Friday evening that will move eastward into the Northeast by Saturday morning and lingering over Maine by Saturday evening. Meanwhile, a strong front over the Rockies/Great Basin/Southern California will have the northern portion of the boundary weaken overnight Friday, while the southern portion moves inland to the Southwest/Great Basin by Saturday. The storm will produce rain a long the Northwest Coast into California. Snow will develop over parts of the higher elevations of the Pacific Northwest inland to parts of the Northern Rockies. The snow and rain will wind down overnight Friday over the Pacific Northwest into the Northern Rockies ending by Saturday afternoon. Likewise, the rain and higher elevation snow will end over parts of Northern California into Northern Nevada by late Saturday morning. Rain will move out of Southern California by overnight Saturday as snow and lower elevation rain moves into the Central Rockies, lingering through Sunday. In the meantime, upper-level energy over the Northern High Plains on Saturday will move eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes by Sunday. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will move into Lower Mississippi Valley/Tennessee Valley that will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the region on Saturday afternoon that will move into parts of the Southern Appalachians by Sunday morning. In addition, rain will start to develop over parts of the Southern Ohio Valley expanding into parts of the Northern Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians by Saturday evening. Also on Saturday afternoon, an area of rain and snow will develop over parts of the Central/Northern Plains and parts of Middle Missouri Valley. Overnight Saturday mainly snow will develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes. Additionally overnight Saturday, snow will begin to move into parts of the Northeast with a few pockets of rain/freezing rain as rain moves into parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic.
