A persistent east/west front across the Northwest will be followed by cold front moving onshore on Friday morning. A plume of moisture associated with the boundary will aid in producing rain over parts of Northern California and Pacific Northwest through Friday. In addition, snow will develop over the higher elevations of the Cascades and over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region/Northern Rockies into parts of the Northern High Plains through Friday morning. Meanwhile, moisture flowing northward over parts of the Southern Plains will flow northeastward into parts of the Ohio Valley by Thursday afternoon and extending to the Mid-Atlantic Coast by Friday. The moisture will aid in producing diurnal showers and thunderstorms over the Lower Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday afternoon/evening into Thursday afternoon. Additionally, a front moving southward over the Central Plains and eastward into the Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic will intersect the moisture on Thursday afternoon into Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the boundary Thursday afternoon into evening over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley moving into parts of the Southeast to the Lower Mississippi Valley by Friday morning. Furthermore, snow and rain will develop over parts of the Ohio Valley expanding into the Central Appalachians and Northern Mid-Atlantic overnight Thursday into Friday morning. Elsewhere, upper-level energy over the Upper Great Lakes will aid in triggering snow over parts of the area also overnight Thursday into Friday.
