A front extending from the Mid-Atlantic southwestward to the Southern Plains will move eastward off the Eastern Seaboard by late Friday afternoon and southward to the Gulf of Mexico by Friday evening. Snow will develop over parts of the Ohio Valley/Lower Great Lakes and expand eastward into Northern Mid-Atlantic/Southern New England by Friday morning. The snow over parts of the Northeast will wind down overnight Friday. In addition, Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley on Thursday evening that will expand into parts of the Tennessee Valley/Southeast and Lower Mississippi Valley by Friday morning, to the Gulf Coast by Friday evening. The showers and thunderstorms will retreat to the Western Gulf Coast by Saturday. Rain will also develop over parts of the Southern Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians that will move into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic on Friday, ending by Friday evening. In the wake of the storm, lake effect snow will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes overnight Thursday expanding into the Lower Great Lakes by Friday evening continuing into Saturday. Upper-level energy moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest will move inland to the Central/Southern Plains by Saturday. A plume of moisture moving into the Northwest will slowly begin to wind down on Friday afternoon. Rain will develop over parts of Northern California and the Pacific Northwest that will end by Friday evening. Snow will develop over the Northern Cascades into parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains that will end by Friday night.
