An upper-level low will move out of the Central/Southern High Plains will advance eastward to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Saturday evening. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will stream northward parallel to the storms associated cold front and overrunning the warm front from parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Great Lakes. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the cold front over parts of the Southern Plains that will expand northward to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Friday evening. The showers and thunderstorms will move eastward to parts of the Western Ohio Valley/Tennessee Valley by Saturday. Rain will also develop over parts of the Central Plains into the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley that will continue into Saturday evening from the Great Lakes to parts of Southern New England. In addition, areas of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Northern Appalachians on Friday morning into early Friday afternoon.
