Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 358 PM EDT Sat May 13 2017 Valid 00Z Sun May 14 2017 - 00Z Tue May 16 2017 ...Heavy rain possible over parts of New England Coast... Low pressure just off the Northern Mid-Atlantic Coast continue to deepen as the storm moves of just off Maine and south of Nova Scotia by Monday. The associated front will slowly move southeastward off the Southeast Coast by Sunday morning and clear the Florida peninsula by early Monday. Likewise, showers and thunderstorms will move off the Southeast Coast by Sunday and off the southern tip of Florida by Monday morning. The storm will stream moisture into the Northeast through Sunday afternoon while the moisture flow slowly weakens on Sunday evening into Monday. The system will produce rain from the Northern Mid-Atlantic into parts of the Northeast with the rain ending by Sunday morning over the Northern Mid-Atlantic. On Sunday into Monday the rain will continue over the Northeast. Additional upper-level energy over the Great Lakes/Northern Mid-Atlantic will move eastward off Southern New England Coast overnight Sunday. The energy will produce rain over parts of the Great Lakes moving into the Northern Appalachians by Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, an upper-level low along the Pacific Northwest/Western Canada border lift northeastward into Central Canada by Sunday night into Monday.
