An upper-level low over Eastern Canada will slowly move eastward to Northern New England on Friday into Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms over Maine will come to an end by early Thursday night. Additionally, moisture trapped under the upper-level low and diurnal heating will aid in producing late afternoon and late evening rain showers over on Friday into Saturday. Another upper-level low over Northwestern Mexico will move northeastward to the Southern Plains on Friday into Saturday as additional upper-level energy will move over the Eastern Gulf Coast. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will flow over the Southern Plains eastward to the Southeast aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms through Saturday. The maximum areal coverage of thunderstorms will be during the late afternoon into late evening hours on Friday into Saturday. Meanwhile, a front over the Northern High Plains into the Great Basin will slowly move eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley to the Central High Plains by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region/Northern Rockies to parts of the Great Basin/Central Rockies will move eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley and parts of the Upper Great Lakes into Central Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley by Saturday.
