Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 358 PM EDT Wed Jun 07 2017 Valid 00Z Thu Jun 08 2017 - 00Z Sat Jun 10 2017 ...Heavy rain possible over parts of the southern tip of Florida... An upper-level low over the Central Appalachians will slowly move northeastward to New England by Friday. The system will produce rain and afternoon/evening thunderstorms over the Central Appalachians will expand into parts of the Southern Appalachians on Thursday, slowly ending overnight Thursday. Meanwhile, low pressure just off the Southeast Coast will move northeastward to off of Southern New England and deepen. The front associated with the storm will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Carolina Coast into the Southeast ending over most of the area by Thursday night. Showers and Thunderstorms will continue over the southern most tip of Florida through Friday. As the surface low approaches the Northeast, rain will develop over parts of the interior Northeast and the Northeast Coast Thursday evening into Friday.
