Upper-level energy and moisture from the Atlantic will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast and Southern Mid-Atlantic through Saturday. The showers and thunderstorms will have a strong diurnal component to the areal coverage, with a maximum coverage during the late afternoon into late evening hours on Friday and Saturday. Another area of upper-level energy and a near by boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northeast into the Northern Mid-Atlantic through Saturday evening. Meanwhile, an old boundary over the Great Lakes to the Central Plains and upper-level energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley/Ohio Valley into the Great Lakes through Saturday.
