Upper-level energy and moisture from the Atlantic will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast and Southern Mid-Atlantic through Saturday. The showers and thunderstorms will have a strong diurnal component to the areal coverage, with a maximum coverage during the late afternoon into late evening hours on Friday and Saturday. Another area of upper-level energy and a near by boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northeast into the Northern Mid-Atlantic through Saturday evening. Meanwhile, onshore flow and upper-level energy will aid in producing rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest eastward to parts of the Northern Rockies ending overnight Friday. The upper-level energy will aid in inducing a front over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region into parts of the Great Basin by Friday evening. The front will extend from parts of the of the Middle Mississippi Valley/Western Ohio Valley westward to parts of the Great Basin by Saturday evening. The energy associated with the boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Plains that will expand into parts of the Central Plains and the Upper Midwest on Saturday morning into evening. Elsewhere, an old boundary over the Great Lakes to the Central Plains and upper-level energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley/Ohio Valley into the Great Lakes through Saturday.
