Tropical Depression Emily is forecast to move northeastward off the Southeast Coast and become Post Tropical Cyclone Emily over the Western Atlantic by Wednesday evening. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Florida peninsula through Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Ohio Valley will settle southeastward to the Southeast Coast by Wednesday evening. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Ohio Valley into parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Central Appalachians on Tuesday afternoon ending overnight Tuesday. In addition, weak upper-level impulses and moisture rich air over the Southern Plains will produce showers and thunderstorms over the region Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday evening. A front over the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Northern High Plains will move eastward to the Great Lakes and extending westward to the Central High Plains by Wednesday evening. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Northern Plains that will move eastward to the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley/Lower Great Lakes/Northeast by Wednesday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will continue over parts of the Northern High Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley Tuesday evening into Wednesday evening. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture and daytime heating along with upper-level impulses will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest/Southeastern California into the Central/Southern Rockies and Central/Southern High Plains through Wednesday evening.
