Meanwhile, a front extending from the Northeast Coast to the Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast westward across the Gulf Coast State into the Southern Plains will be quasi-stationary through Monday evening into Tuesday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Northeast to the Southern Mid-Atlantic westward to the Southern Plains on Sunday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will end over the Northeast by Sunday evening. Additionally, the showers and thunderstorms will continue over the Southern Mid-Atlantic across the Gulf Coast States into parts of the Southern Plains from Sunday into Monday evening/Tuesday. In addition, upper-level energy over the Northern Plains will slowly move to the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. The energy will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central Plains and the Upper Mississippi Valley that will slowly advance eastward to the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley and parts of the Upper Great Lakes by Monday night. In the meantime, a front moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest will move eastward to the Northern High Plains extending southwestward into parts of the Great Basin by Monday evening into Tuesday. Overnight Sunday, additional upper-level energy will reinforce the boundary as the energy travels eastward from the Northwest Coast to the Northern Intermountain Region/Great Basin by Monday evening. Rain will develop over parts of the Pacific Northwest and move eastward to the Northern Rockies by late Sunday night. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary by Monday morning over parts of the Northern Plains/Northern Rockies that will advance eastward to parts of the Northern Plains/Northern High Plains into parts of the Great Basin by Monday evening. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest/Great Basin and parts of the Central/Southern Rockies on Sunday and Monday. The greatest areal coverage of the convection will be during the late afternoon into the late evening on Sunday and Monday.
