A front extending from the Great Lakes roughly westward to the Central Plains will advance eastward off the Northeast/Northern Mid-Atlantic Coast by Wednesday. While the western end of the boundary extends from Southern Mid-Atlantic roughly westward to Upper Mississippi Valley by Wednesday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front from the Great Lakes to parts of the Central Plains that will move eastward to the Northeast and extending westward across the Ohio Valley/Middle Mississippi Valley by Tuesday evening. Overnight Tuesday, the showers and thunderstorms will taper off along the boundary redeveloping over the Ohio and Middle Mississippi Valley on Wednesday into Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, upper-level energy extending from the Mid-Atlantic to parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley will move off the Mid-Atlantic Coast overnight Tuesday. The energy will aid in triggering showers and thunderstorms over parts of Southern New England/Mid-Atlantic to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley that will likewise move off the Mid-Atlantic Coast overnight Tuesday.
