Tropical storm Harvey is forecast to move out over the Gulf of Mexico and make a second landfall over parts of the Central Gulf Coast by Wednesday afternoon. The system will produce extremely heavy rain over parts of the Western/Central Gulf Coast and severe weather through Wednesday. In addition, potential tropical cyclone Ten is forecasted to develop along the Southeast Coast and move northeastward along the coast to Cape Hatteras by Tuesday afternoon then continue to move northeastward out over the Western Atlantic. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms along the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast with heavy rain through Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, a weakening front extending from the Upper Great Lakes/Western Ohio Valley to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley northwestward into parts of the Southern Plains will be quasi-stationary and dissipate by Tuesday afternoon into evening. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley into parts of the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley that will slowly wane over the region by Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. Elsewhere, weak upper-level energy and moisture trapped under the upper-level long wave ridge will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Rockies and the Great Basin/Southwest through Wednesday with the greatest areal coverage during the late afternoon into the late evening on Monday and Tuesday.
