Hurricane Irma is forecast to move northwestward from Cuba to Southern Florida by Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will move into Southern Florida Saturday evening into Saturday night that will move northward over the Florida Peninsula on Sunday. Hurricane Irma will bring destructive winds, dangerous storm surge, and heavy rain to much of Florida, but please refer to the National Hurricane Hurricane Center (www.nhc.noaa.gov) for the latest information on Irma's track and intensity. A quasi-stationary front north of Irma will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Florida peninsula and northeast Florida through Sunday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will move into parts of the Southeast Coast on Sunday into Sunday evening. Meanwhile, an upper-level low off the Central California Coast will move southward to off the Southern California Coast by Sunday evening. Circulation around the upper-level low will stream moisture from Gulf of California/Pacific into the Southwest/Southeastern California that will weaken by Sunday evening. The moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest/Great Basin and Southeastern California that will expand into parts of the Southern/Central Rockies on Saturday into Sunday evening. On Sunday, the showers and thunderstorms will slowly wane over parts of the Southwest/Great Basin and Southeastern California. Additionally, a front will come onshore over the Pacific Northwest on Saturday moving inland to the Northern Plains into the Northern Rockies by Sunday evening. The boundary will aid in producing rain over parts of the Northwest on Saturday afternoon waning overnight Saturday. Furthermore, upper-level energy over the Northern Plains will slowly lift into the Upper Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central Plains that will slowly move northeastward into the Upper Mississippi Valley while weakening by Sunday evening.
