A wave of low pressure over the Central High Plains along a front extending from the Northern Mid-Atlantic westward to the Central Rockies will move northeastward to the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday evening. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms along and near the boundary from the Great Lakes westward to the Central High Plains through Friday evening. The showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front over parts of the Central/Southern Plains overnight Friday into Saturday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will continue over the Upper Great Lakes and extend southward across the Western Ohio Valley/Tennessee Valley into the Lower Mississippi Valley by Saturday evening. In addition, rain will develop over parts of the Lower Great Lakes into the Northeast by late Friday morning that will lift northward into Canada by Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, a front will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest on Friday evening that will move quickly inland to the Upper Mississippi Valley/Northern Plains westward into the Northern Rockies/Northern Intermountain Region by Saturday evening. Rain will begin to develop over parts of the Pacific Northwest Coast on Friday evening that will expand eastward into the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains on Saturday into Saturday evening. Snow will develop over the higher elevations of the Cascades on Saturday morning and over parts of the highest elevations of the Northern Rockies by Saturday evening into Sunday. Additionally, tropical moisture over the Florida peninsula and weak upper-level energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Florida peninsula on Friday into Friday evening. Tropical moisture will move into parts of the Eastern/Central Gulf Coast on Friday evening into Saturday producing showers and thunderstorms along the Central Gulf Coast. Tropical Cyclone Nate will move northward across the Central Gulf of Mexico to the Central Gulf Coast by Saturday evening. As the storm approaches, showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Central/Eastern Gulf Coast on Saturday morning into afternoon, moving inland to parts of the Tennessee/Lower Mississippi Valley and parts of the Southeast by Saturday into Saturday evening.
