Upper-level energy over parts of the Northeast will move out over the Western Atlantic overnight Thursday. The system will produce light rain over parts of the Northeast into the Mid-Atlantic that will end over the Northeast/Northern Mid-Atlantic by late Thursday night. Early on Thursday morning, onshore flow from the Atlantic will develop over parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic that will move into the Southern Mid-Atlantic by Thursday evening and continuing into Friday evening. Light rain and drizzle will develop over parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Thursday continuing into Friday evening. In addition, upper-level energy and easterly flow off the Atlantic will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the Florida peninsula on Thursday into Friday. Meanwhile, a front over the Northern Plains into the Central Rockies/Great Basin will move slowly eastward to the Upper Great Lake/Middle Mississippi Valley into parts of the Central Plains and Southern High Plains by Friday evening. Moisture will pool along the front overnight Thursday aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley on Friday afternoon into Friday evening with light rain moving into the Upper Great Lakes by Friday evening. Additionally, moisture from the Atlantic will move into the Great Lakes through late Thursday evening. Light rain will develop over parts of the Great Lakes Thursday evening into Friday morning. In the meantime, onshore flow will continue over the Pacific Northwest through Friday evening. Rain and higher elevation snow will develop over the Northwest into the Northern Intermountain Region through Friday evening.
