Upper-level energy over the Middle/Upper Mississippi Valley and the Upper Great Lakes/Western Ohio Valley will move eastward and weaken by Sunday morning. An area of rain and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes into parts of the Western Ohio and Middle Mississippi Valleys will extend southward to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Tennessee Valley by Saturday evening as showers move into parts of the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast. The area of rain and thunderstorms will remain over parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley into parts of the Mid-Atlantic/Northern Appalachians by Sunday morning. On Sunday a front from the west will catch up to the area of rain and thunderstorms aiding in producing showers and thunderstorms along and ahead of the boundary from the Lower Great Lakes/Northern Appalachians southwestward into the Ohio Valley/Great Lakes and parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening.
