A front extending from the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley southwestward to the Central Plains and Central Rockies will move eastward to the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast and southward into the Southern Mid-Atlantic and the Tennessee/Lower Mississippi Valley into the Southern Plains by Monday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley into the Middle Mississippi Valley that will move eastward to the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast that will extend southwestward across the Central/Southern Appalachians into the Tennessee Valley and the Lower Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. The rain will be heavy at times over the Ohio Valley from Sunday afternoon into Monday afternoon. In addition, rain over parts of the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley into parts of the Central Plains will move eastward into the Upper Great Lakes by Sunday evening. Late Sunday afternoon rain will develop over parts of the Northern Appalachians expanding into parts of Northern New England by Sunday evening. The rain will continue over the Northern Appalachians/Northern New England on Monday morning, likewise, moving to the New England Coast by Monday evening. Meanwhile, a steady stream of upper-level energy will flow over the Great Basin to the Central Rockies through Monday evening. A second area of stronger upper-level energy over the Pacific Northwest will move to the Northern Plains westward to the Northern Intermountain Region by late Monday. The areas of upper-level energy will aid in producing rain and higher elevations snow over the Pacific Northwest that will begin to wane by Monday morning ending by Monday evening. Snow will expand into the Northern Intermountain Region/Northern Rockies on Sunday morning that will expand into the Northern High Plains by Sunday evening, continuing over the area through Monday evening. Light snow will develop over parts of the Northern Plains Monday into Monday evening. Furthermore, snow and lower elevation rain will develop over parts of the Great Basin into the Central Rockies through Monday evening.
