A cold front pushing across the Great Lakes will bring a variety of weather hazards to the Ohio Valley and Lower Great Lakes today. Numerous rounds of thunderstorms are expected to affect the region. Locally heavy downpours have the potential to produce flash flooding, especially across parts of Indiana, Ohio, and western Pennsylvania. These storms also have the potential to produce severe winds and hail. The front will be slow moving and eventually push into the Northeast and Mid Atlantic later tomorrow but precipitation intensity will decrease. Ahead of the front warm temperatures are expected across the Southern Plains and Ohio Valley where highs could be as much as 10 to 20 degrees above normal. In the west, a period of quite weather is expected. High pressure in place across the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains will support much colder temperatures across the region. An upper level disturbance will push across the northwest U.S. bringing snow light snow showers to the Pacific Northwest, and northern and central Rockies.
