A strong front extending from the Lower Great Lakes roughly southwestward to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Western Gulf Coast will move eastward off the East Coast and the Gulf Coast by Wednesday evening. Rain will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Lower Great Lakes to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Southern Plains that will move eastward to the Eastern Seaboard by Wednesday morning. The rain will move off the Northeast/Northern Mid-Atlantic Coast by Wednesday evening. Overnight Tuesday, snow will develop over parts of the Northern/Central Appalachians ending over the Central Appalachians by Wednesday morning. Rain and snow move into parts of Northern New England early Wednesday morning ending by Wednesday afternoon.
