Upper-level energy over New Mexico will move southward into Northern Mexico then overnight Thursday move eastward to the southern tip of Texas by Friday evening. Impulses of energy will race eastward over the Gulf Coast States on Thursday into Friday afternoon. The energy will aid in producing snow over Southwestern Texas that will slowly come to an end by Friday morning. Rain will develop across the Western Gulf Coast to the Eastern Gulf Coast and into the Southeast that will end over the Western Gulf Coast by Friday afternoon. Overnight Thursday, areas of snow will develop on the back end of the precipitation shield over parts of the Western Gulf Coast. Likewise, some regions of snow will develop over parts of the Central Gulf Coast on the back edge of the precipitation shield on Friday into Friday evening. The rain will continue over the Eastern Gulf Coast/Southeast through Friday evening with areas of snow developing over parts of the Southern Appalachians on Friday afternoon. Lake effect and lake enhanced snow will develop over the Great Lakes into parts of the Central/Northern Appalachians through Friday evening. a reinforcing front will move over the Upper Great Lakes on Friday. With the reinforcing front, light snow will develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley Friday into Friday evening.
