An extremely cold area of high pressure extending from east of the Rockies to the East Coast will continue over the area through Monday evening. A bubble of moisture associated with a wave of low pressure along the Central/Eastern Gulf Coast will move eastward to the Southeast by Monday morning. The impulse will aid in producing light rain over parts of the Central Gulf Coast that will move eastward to the Southeast by Monday. A long the northern edge of the rain, rain/freezing rain may develop over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley into parts of the Southeast on Sunday. Also a few areas of rain/freezing rain may develop over parts of Texas on Sunday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over parts of the Northern/Central High Plains will produce light snow over the area on Sunday morning. In addition, another area of upper-level energy over the Middle Mississippi Valley will move eastward to the Ohio Valley by Sunday afternoon. Light snow will develop over parts of the region on Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon. Additionally, a third region of upper-level energy over West-Central Ontario will move over the Great Lakes along with the very cold air producing lake effect snow downwind from the Great Lakes through Monday evening.
