Cold high pressure settling over the Plains/Mississippi Valley will slowly begin to moderate through Tuesday. With the cold air over the eastern two thirds of the country a long with one area of upper-level energy followed by another moving over the Great Lakes will aid in producing lake effect snow downwind from the Great Lakes through Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, a front will move southward over Florida and eastward out over the Atlantic by early Tuesday morning. Moisture will linger over parts of the peninsula through Wednesday.
