Moisture flowing northward out of the Western Gulf of Mexico extend northward into parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley through Thursday. The moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley that will expand into the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys by Wednesday morning continuing over the region through Thursday. Rain will begin to develop over parts of the Central/Southern Appalachians on Wednesday that will expand into the Mid-Atlantic and continuing over the area through Thursday, too. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Southeastern Alaskan Coast/British Columbia Coast moves southeastward to California/Great Basin by Thursday. The energy will aid in developing rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest overnight Tuesday that will begin to taper off overnight Wednesday. On Wednesday, snow will develop over parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains that will expand into parts of the Northern Plains by Wednesday evening and into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Also overnight Wednesday, snow will move into parts of the Great Basin and the Central Rockies. Furthermore, upper-level energy off the Central/Southern California Coast will move inland on Wednesday afternoon moving to the Southwest/Central Rockies by Thursday. The energy will aid in drawing a plume of moisture off the Pacific across parts of Northwest Mexico into parts of the Southwest Wednesday afternoon into evening continuing into Thursday. The energy will also aid in developing rain over parts of the Southwest overnight Wednesday into Thursday as snow develops over parts of the Southern Rockies on Thursday.
