Upper-level energy over the Northern Rockies will move southeastward to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Sunday. The energy will aid in producing light snow over parts of the Northern Rockies into parts of the Northern Plains along with rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest that will end over the Northwest overnight Friday. The snow will move into parts of the Northern High Plains/Northern Plains into parts of the Central Rockies by Saturday morning. The snow and light rain will move into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Saturday evening with snow extending across parts of the Northern Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley. Snow will continue over parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley through Sunday. As the energy moves eastward, moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will move northward over parts of the Southern Plains into the Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley that will expand eastward into parts of the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic overnight Friday into Sunday morning. The moisture will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Western Gulf Coast on Friday evening that will expand into parts of the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley by Saturday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will move into parts of the Tennessee Valley Saturday afternoon into Sunday. Rain will also develop over parts of the Southern Ohio Valley on Friday evening that will expand into parts of the Tennessee Valley/Central Appalachians with wet snow overnight at higher elevations of the Central Appalachians. The rain will continue over parts of the region while moving into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic Saturday evening into Sunday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy off of Central California Coast will move inland on Saturday moving to Southern California/Great Basin by Sunday. Weak onshore flow will spread some moisture into Southern California and parts of the Great Basin/Southwest on Saturday into Sunday. Rain and higher elevation snow will develop over parts of California on Saturday expanding into parts of the Southwest by Saturday evening. The rain and higher elevation snow will continue to expand eastward into parts of the Great Basin/Southwest into parts of the Southern Rockies by Sunday. Elsewhere, a deep upper-level low over the Northeast will aid in producing light snow over parts of Northern New England through Sunday.
