Deep low off the Northeast Coast will lift northeastward into the Canadian Maritimes and slowly fill by Thursday. The storm will produce snow, heavy at times, over Northern New England into parts of the Lower Great Lakes through Wednesday evening. Light snow showers will develop over parts of the Great Lakes into the Ohio Valley/Central Appalachian ending overnight Tuesday for most of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley. The snow showers will continue over the Central Appalachians through Wednesday evening. Snow will also continue over parts of the Northeast through Thursday. In addition, upper-level energy associated with a front moving across the Upper Great Lakes on Wednesday evening into Thursday will produce light snow over parts of the Upper Great Lakes into parts of the Central Appalachians Wednesday evening into Thursday. Meanwhile, a deep upper-level trough just off the West Coast will move inland over the Northern Rockies to Southern California by Thursday. The system will produce rain and highest elevation snow over parts of the Northwest into California on Tuesday evening. Overnight Tuesday, the snow levels will lower across the West Coast as higher elevation snow develops over the Northwest into Northern/Central California and the Great Basin by Wednesday morning. The snow and lower elevation rain will move into parts of the Northern Rockies into parts of the Great Basin by Wednesday evening, while the rain and higher elevation snow continues over the Pacific Northwest and Northern/Central California. Overnight Wednesday, the rain and higher elevation snow will begin to wane over the Northwest and California. Snow and lower elevation rain will move into parts of the Central Rockies Wednesday evening into Thursday, while snow and lower elevation rain continues over parts of the Northern Rockies into the Great Basin.
